About Us

As members of the Nepalese diaspora currently residing in the Niagara region, we aim to establish connections with individuals who share our Nepalese language, culture, values, and/or traditions. Recognizing the importance of fostering unity and setting forth a common mission and vision, we have come together to establish a not for profit organization named “Nepalese in Niagara”. Our goal is to create a lasting platform for Nepalese or Nepalese origin individuals living in the Niagara Region, for generations to come.

Our Mission

• To unite and support the Nepalese community residing in the Niagara Region by fostering a cooperative environment. 
• To preserve, promote, and enrich Nepalese identity, culture, language, and heritage through various cultural and social activities.
• To facilitate and serve as a point of contact for existing community members, newcomers, students, and visitors.
• To extend a warm welcome and provide support to newcomers by collaborating with local, provincial, federal governments, and settlement agencies. 

Our Objectives

• To organize cultural and social events aimed at preserving and promoting Nepalese culture, arts, heritage, and festivals. 
• To initiate educational and cultural programs that aid children in learning the Nepalese language and culture, fostering their sense of belonging to the community. 
• To provide information and moral support to members and newcomers alike. 
• To assist newcomers and students in integrating into Canadian culture by facilitating information sharing and communication. 
• To establish the presence of the ethnic Nepalese society and foster positive communication, mutual respect, and cooperation among diverse communities. 
• To seek government funding, organize fundraising campaigns, and promote ethnic Nepalese culture and heritage, provide support in emergencies, and establish community resource centers. 
• To encourage community members to volunteer for social services to build harmonious communities.
